@therealkarinhart: 9/16/09 - 15 years ago today I found out I had #PapillaryThyroidCancer 🎗️🩷💜🩵 All I could think was “I was a #DIAthlete, healthy & in shape - how could I have cancer!?” I was so scared of what lies ahead… if I had only known everything was going to be okay 😊 It wasn’t easy at all… straining on me & my dad emotionally, physically, & financially… two surgeries, one radiation treatment, & 5 years of balancing my thyroid levels (post-#thyroidectomy) I was deemed “in remission”!! 💛 So blessed to have my dad & the love and support of my close family & friends thru it all. WHAT A GIFT LIFE IS!… although this was a scary thing to go thru - I am truly blessed to be here & take everyday as a gift. Never take anything for granted! A year later in 2010, I was blessed to meet my souldog Grover. He was a stray puppy in the Bahamas, but was said to be born mid-September, so I made his bday my #LiveSTRONG Day so we could celebrate every year together.
