Homemade Baklava 🍯 Crispy, Juicy, Nutty Perfection ✨ 📖 Ingredients: For the Baklava * 1 pack phyllo dough (450–500 g) * 250 g unsalted butter * 200 g ghee Nut Filling * 1½ cups walnuts, finely chopped * 1 cup pistachios, finely chopped * 1 cup almonds, finely chopped * 2 tbsp sugar * 2 tsp ground cardamom Syrup * 2 cups water * 2½ cups sugar * 1 tbsp lemon juice 👩🏻‍🍳 Instructions: 1. Prepare the Nut Filling 1. Finely chop the walnuts, pistachios, and almonds. 2. Mix the chopped nuts with the sugar and ground cardamom. 3. Set aside. 2. Make the Syrup 1. In a saucepan, combine the water and sugar over medium heat. 2. Stir until the sugar fully dissolves. 3. Bring to a gentle boil, then add the lemon juice. 4. Simmer for 10–15 minutes, until the syrup thickens slightly. 5. Remove from the heat and allow the syrup to cool completely. 3. Prepare the Butter Mixture 1. Melt the butter together with the ghee. 2. Skim off and discard the white foam from the surface for a clearer butter mixture. 4. Assemble the Baklava 1. Preheat the oven to 170°C (top and bottom heat). 2. Carefully unroll the phyllo dough and keep the sheets covered with a damp kitchen towel to prevent them from drying out. 3. Place one phyllo sheet on a clean work surface and brush lightly with the butter-ghee mixture. 4. Sprinkle a thin, even layer of the nut filling over the sheet. 5. Place a thin rolling stick or skewer along one edge and roll the pastry tightly around it. 6. Gently push the pastry inward from both ends to create the traditional wrinkled baklava shape. 7. Carefully remove the stick and place the roll onto a greased baking tray. 8. Repeat with the remaining phyllo sheets and filling. 9. Once all the rolls are arranged in the tray, cut them into equal-sized pieces. 10. Brush the tops generously with the remaining butter mixture. 5. Bake 1. Bake for 35–45 minutes, or until the baklava is deeply golden and crisp. 6. Add the Syrup 1. Immediately after removing the baklava from the oven, slowly pour the cooled syrup evenly over the hot pastry. 2. Allow the baklava to soak for several hours, preferably overnight, for the best flavor and texture. 3. Garnish with crushed pistachios or extra nuts if desired. ☕ Serving Serve with tea or coffee and enjoy your homemade baklava! #baklava #desserts #EasyRecipes #baklavarecipe
