@abderbs05: The invisible patient theory highlights the often unrecognized and overwhelmed caregivers (family/nursing staff) who support patients with chronic conditions. It emphasizes the crucial need for support, recognition, and tailored care, not just for the patients, but also for these dedicated caregivers. #nurselife #ernurselife #caregiversupport #chronicillness #healthcare

The 12 hour shift is the scam of the century so far. That benefits the hospital, not the worker. 12 hours is too long

I was a LPN for 17 years and been an RN since 2015. I love being a nurse especially bedside nursing but it’s not what it used to be to be anymore! Nurses give their all work understaffed, underpaid, micromanaged and still don’t get the credit they deserve! In the process somewhere along the way we loose that joy we once had when we began our career. We get burn out not because we don’t love what we do but because we don’t take the time to take care of our mental, emotional and physical health. We are to busy taking care of others that’s just what we do, it’s in our blood. There comes a time tho when we finally need to take a stand and say, enough is enough and take control of our own health because management never will!!

I thought this meant when I wake up in the middle of the night after having a dream I forgot I had a certain patient all day and never went in that room once 😳

This is exactly what people don’t understand about healthcare… the “invisible patient” is often the nurse or CNA holding everything together. And in LTC, that weight doesn’t end after the shift it follows you home. 💙

Ive been a nurse almost 20 years it’s not for the weak but you pray. I promise you God carries me through every shift. Please pray because God is with me and I see it through my patients and why I am there. 🙏 I do alot of self care as well. I take care of myself in every way because I sacrifice everything and give 💯 to my patients even when I feel I have nothing left to give. This career is physically mentally and emotionally draining. I chose this career but I know God is working through me❤️❤️❤️

Our co-workers become family...just sad the system preaches work-life balance...but yet make it impossible for the Healthcare workers to actually have said balance.

I still wouldn’t give my 12hrs up. Just don’t plan on doing it till retirement. At this rate, nursing is a stepping stone to where I really want to be. Not my lifetime gig

Caregiver role strain is literally a nursing diagnosis. And that applies to ALL caregivers.
