@abigailparague: The Art of Slow Living: 🩷 Preserving Valentine’s Day There is something so bittersweet about Valentine’s roses starting to fade, but they don’t have to end up in the bin. Today, I’m turning these memories into a golden, aromatic infused oil, a little ritual to practice patience and self-care. ✨ I’m using a simple cold-maceration process to "drown" my dried petals in rich olive oil. It’s the ultimate "easy" way to capture the essence of the flower. 🌹 Since dried roses lose a bit of their magic, I’m fortifying the blend with Mayjam Rose Essential Oil to bring back that deep, fresh floral scent. The Ritual: • Gathering: I waited until my petals were "potato chip" crunchy. Moisture is the enemy of a good infusion, so patience in the drying phase is everything. • The Infusion: Layering the petals into a clean mason jar and covering them with olive oil, watching the liquid fill the spaces between the petals is so therapeutic. • The Boost: I added about 10–12 drops of Rose Essential Oil for every 2 tablespoons of base oil to ensure it’s skin-safe but still fragrant. I added lavender, geranium and vanilla as well. • The Wait: Now, this jar will sit in a dark cabinet for two weeks. A gentle swirl every few days to keep the energy moving is all you need. How I’ll be using this: • As a rich hand and cuticle oil to recover from the day. • Dropped into a warm bath so the petals can dance around me while the olive oil deeply moisturizes. • A pre-wash hair mask for a little extra shine and scent. Taking something "dead" and giving it a second life. Have you upcycled before? #RoseOil #SelfCareRituals #SlowLiving #AestheticDIY #UpcycledRoses
