a example for phonotactics in English would be words that come from French but that English speakers pronunce with an extra vowel: ballet as /ba'lei/ instead of /balé/

Most of Brazil doesn’t speak like that; it’s not even standard in São Paulo. In the capital, that “dji” and “tchi” pronunciation is generally used more by poorer segments of the population who try to imitate the accent of Rio de Janeiro. It ends up being a characteristic of old money to pronounce the D the same way, regardless of the following vowel.

I am a linguist and also a northeastern, so we don't have the phonemes dj/tj. It's really interesting seeing videos about this topic because it helps me with teaching English to students that come from the southeastern states. It's REALLY hard sometimes to make them say Bad/ and not badgee.

Brazil is a continental country. Depends on the region. I do, in fact, pronounce “tomatchi” as most of south east brasilians do. And yes, it’s Brasil with s.

There is no such thing as consonants on the end of words in BR PT.
We need vowels in the end of each word.
