@edmmusicig: Five years ago today, Daft Punk released Epilogue, an 8-minute farewell that marked the end of a 28-year run. Built from footage of their 2006 film Daft Punk’s Electroma, the video shows the two robots walking through the desert before Thomas triggers his own self-destruct, ending with the years 1993–2021. Soundtracked by “Touch (2021 Epilogue)” from Random Access Memories, it instantly became a global moment and trended No. 1 on YouTube. Though silent, the message was loud. The duo stepped away at the height of their legacy, later hinting at discomfort with an increasingly algorithm-driven music world. Even with “Infinity Repeating” arriving in 2023 and collaborations like their Fortnite feature years later, they’ve stayed firm. No reunion. Just a final walk into the sunset that changed electronic music forever. #edm #edmmusic #electronicdancemusic #daftpunk
