It’s the insecurities that slowly pile up. Weight changes. Inflammation. Hair thinning. Skin changes. Skin tags. For years I told myself, “It’s fine. It’s not that noticeable. It doesn’t matter.” But if I’m honest? It did matter to me. So today I had my skin tags removed using liquid nitrogen cryotherapy. They freeze them off. And yes — it burns for a minute. Not unbearable. Just a sharp sting and then it’s over. But here’s the deeper part: This wasn’t about vanity. It was about not ignoring myself anymore. Autoimmune conditions like Hashimoto’s can make you feel like your body is doing things without your permission. Sometimes you feel puffy. Sometimes inflamed. Sometimes like you don’t recognize yourself in the mirror. And while healing is internal and spiritual and nervous-system based and lifestyle based… it’s also okay to take care of the external things that bother you. You’re allowed to want to feel comfortable in your own skin. You’re allowed to address insecurities. You’re allowed to take small steps that make you feel more like you again. This isn’t about perfection. It’s about stewardship. It’s about honoring the body God gave you — even when it feels like it’s fighting you. Small step today. But for me?
