Nigeria was objectively worse in the 60s 90% of the country was poor and illiterate living in rural areas and the few educated elite lived in major cities like lagos that's why they looked "nice" which took a turn in the 80s with the major cities seeing an influx of rural people moving to seek for better job opportunities which made the major cities more congested and less "nice" looking

Guy take your time watch videos of other states during British rule then you go understand say every State capital was ahead of the every present day Nigeria states Including Abuja in terms of infrastructures and order. Even villages back then growing up was clean and the most cities today.
