I can't stop thinking about how damaging it must be for a child to so frequently have a camera lens between them & their parent esp at vulnerable moments when they need connection

Does tantrums count as sad ? Everytime a child has a tantrum online it’s go so many views and I also hate that parents give strangers leeway to talk about their children

I think this kind of content isn’t just an internet thing. I’ve seen a disability advocates talking about having hospital stays broadcast on TV, a charity show on the BBC in the UK broadcast video of an autistic child’s meltdown to help a fundraiser, (when I complained I was told it was fine because his parents had agreed to it), it’s pretty common to use disabled children as inspiration fodder on local news etc.

It’s apparent if you go to any influencer’s videos and sort by “popular”; kids getting shots, going to the emergency room, losing teeth, and so on.
