Don’t use paintable caulk for tubs, use 100% silicone , it will last longer without molding .

good solid instructions here. I'd like to suggest that once the caulking is removed you scrub the surface 2x once with 100% hydrogen peroxide (kills mold) then 99% isopropyl alcohol (kills nearly everything else) & let it dry. This will help arrest anything returning in your new sealant.
