We have been trained to wait 30days. It needs to change. They should the money already allocated. When I am finished with job I want paid. No different that expecting to be paid immediately after a service call to a normal resident

Only work for specialty subs, designated within there specialty. G.c. usually wing specialtys along. Run around for most part. Specialty subs have very high follow through, pay there techs good, also promptly within weekly-bi-weekly pay schedule. Worked for two g.c.'s, one shorted everyone there hours, no benefits as well. Other desired piece work pay scale, travel time was approx 80-miles each direction, fuel un-paid, drive time un-paid, which exceeded actual work time. Also expected to fulfill above, within 4-5 at best billable hours, average day was min 11-hours-14 hours, payed 4-5 hours from the actual 11-14 hours work related hours. They are typical creatures within predictability, creatures that short employees, then employees think short, also abort. No reason to think long, due to you will realize you thought wrong.

I spent a bunch of time chasing money from my generals. I had very few good ones. I believe it will never change.

if it's an issue pre lien the job... I put in a schedule of values and get paid as the project progresses... IE progress payment... I get paid you get paid... there's a thing called joint checks.

The bigger the contractor, the longer it takes to get paid. They think it’s OK to make you wait 90 days.

I used to do new HVAC new construction and my company only worked for two different GC’s for this exact reason, because they were the only two in the area that would pay my bosses even if the home owner wasn’t paying

10 day max to get paid. I usually tell people 3 days. For apartments, it’s get paid same day or I don’t do the work. They can always pay by credit card if necessary.
