Friend brought her sister and her boyfriend to play board games with us at my house. Sister was nice but boyfriend ended up shouting at me and calling me an idiot because I didn't instantly get the rules of a game I'd never played before. I just left the room because people shouting makes me cry. I've never been confrontational or able to stand up for myself so my now husband and our other friend "politely" kicked him out.

My husband’s ex and I actually get on really well. The first New Year’s Eve we spent together, we invited her and her partner over to celebrate with us. Her boyfriend was one of the strangest people I’ve ever met. At one point he asked if he could smoke, and I said yeah, just in the kitchen with the door closed and the window open. Instead of just saying okay, he went “I’ll ask the man of the house, thanks” even though it was my flat. After that he started acting really weird. He kept going up to another guest asking “who tf are you?” over and over, making things awkward for everyone. In the end he was the one who left, suddenly and out of nowhere, even though they were meant to stay over. Whole night was just bizarre.

One of the most disrespectful things a friend did while coming into my parents house was to actually not say anything at all. My sister had this friend who used to show up to our house then text my sister and say “hey I’m outside can I come in?” My sister would say yes this friend would come in and would just walk right past my parents in the living room and not say anything to or acknowledge them even if my sister stopped to say something to them this friend would just stand there wait for my sister to be done saying whatever to our parents and just walk upstairs to my sisters room. My mom who’s very big on respect really didn’t appreciate this as it’s her house and this friend is just showing up to her house unannounced walking into her home and just ignoring her and my dad as if she owned the place. I basically told my sister later this friend was not welcome in my home which is my safe space after this friend made a very inappropriate comment towards me… kinda mad she didn’t stop being friends with her all together but hey her life not mine can’t control her friends but I can control who’s allowed in my space and my sister thankfully understood that.
