I don’t even think it’s necessary for microneedling. If you can’t handle a little discomfort then you don’t want results bad enough

I’ve personally seen lidocaine toxicity in the surgical setting and we had intralipids available- I can’t imagine how scary this would be in a Medspa/clinic setting, and the potential delay in care dt people being unable to recognize it.

My sister had methemoglobinemia from lidocaine. Good/fast paramedics and a smart ER doctor who administered methylene blue saved her life. It’s rare, but something I had no idea about.

In my medspa we use a BLT combination (benzocaine, lidocaine, and tetracaine) would something like this be potentially more dangerous than lidocaine alone? We do have a standard small amount that we can dispense per our policy pre procedure.

I’m only learning about this today cause of that death case. I’ve gotten 4 sessions of microneedling and have 2 more coming up. All 4 times I’ve been numbed but the professional I go to is always so anal about not leaving it on after a certain amount of time. Didn’t know why, just assumed the cream hit its “peak” numbing. Yikes. Now I know I’m in good hands with mine
