In all my years, today is the first time I’ve seen one of those. I’m stoked to learn new stuff!

If you need a little more space, 2 chase nipples and one ridgid coupling works great

Close nipples use FOUR locknuts, not two, actual rigid locknuts won’t thread close enough to the center to reach the boxes. With four locknuts, the covers don’t touch

"never do in half what you could do in three quarter"... fast forward to my conversation with my boss/owner today, me: "If youre wanting to run a 3" under the floor before we pour cement lets run two 2" below it. three phase in the 3" and One 2" for single phase, the other is just for future use." him: why would we need to do all that just run everything in the 3"...." my good sir, conduit fill limits exist and i have zero interest in pulling air line through the same conduit as power nor do i want to have to pull it all back out to repair an air leak.

Back to back emt connectors or a 2” by 1/2 or 3/4 nipple. No one in the trade would ever use a close or chase nipple. I think one of the supply houses carries that 3rd option in Arlington. Love your content,

It takes 4 lock rings, but you can get box separation with a close nipple and lock ring on the inside and the outside of either box as spacers. Not ideal though

I have seen a new product, where it's a expandable box. you can start with a 4sq and remove one wall to add on a single gang, or 2gang. the beauty is you can keep adding based on need.
