@alexsfoodieadventures: Mission District , Ripponlea Mission District is a vibey Cali-style cantina tucked away in Ripponlea, owned by locals Jenna & Tom. They were meant to honeymoon in Mexico in 2020, but when travel plans fell through, they did the next best thing, brought the Mexican-Cali vibes straight to the south-east. Tom spent time studying in California so this was the perfect solution to missing the food there for them. It feels like a little neighbourhood slice of California. Here’s what we tried: 🐟 Tuna tostadas – fresh, zesty, perfect crunch, instantly addictive 🌮 Baja fish tacos – light, crispy, packed with flavour 🍗 Char-grilled adobo chicken burrito bowl – smoky, hearty, with a punch of Cali-Mex spice. I loved this one. 🥦 Crispy cauliflower – delicious, perfectly seasoned, would happily order again 🌮 Grilled chicken tacos – delish, juicy, hit the spot 🌯 Chicken fajita – needed a bit more spice & flavour 🍩 Churros – crispy on the outside, soft inside, came with creamy dulce de leche (loved it!) but honestly, a chocolate sauce would’ve been dreamy as a two sauce combo. Everything on the menu can be made gluten-free on request ✅ The margaritas are fantastic!
