@contentwithshelle: An old acquaintance messaged me out of the blue. It’s been years since we last spoke. At first it felt genuine — just catching up, happy to reconnect. But then the tone shifted. I could sense the sarcasm and jealousy underneath the words. I didn’t argue. I didn’t explain. I just blocked them. No ifs, no buts — peace protected. My children and I are well. We’re living a life many people pray for. I think about my people in the Philippines — I know they would be grateful for the opportunities and stability we have. And that perspective keeps me grounded. Material things come and go. Kindness, gratitude, and love for others — that’s what makes me human. That’s my definition of a good life. And I wouldn’t trade it. Life moves in seasons. You won’t always be at the bottom, and you won’t always be at the top. So be kind. Because when your season shifts, you’ll want people around who remember how you treated them 🫶🏽
