Being able to staple without the cable is very useful though. I use it to staple and then cable tie to for awkward spots or lots of cables

I’ve used these for about 5 years, here’s some info. Can confirm that they will go into hardwood, I’ve used them on old Queenslanders, sometimes you find one side will curl up and need to try again but it is possible. I have also stapled a cable on the odd occasion but it’s hard to replicate. Works up to 6mm and you can stack a 6mm and 2.5mm and they fit but be careful of stapling the cable, which is possible when stapling multiple cables at once
