An (or Anu) is the Sumerian god of the heavens, the sky, and the supreme ruler of the pantheon, considered the father of the gods, associated with creation and authority, whose name literally means "heaven".
The Anunnaki, grew compassionate towards their human creations and provided them with additional knowledge and tools. They taught humans:
1) Agriculture and advanced farming techniques.
2) Mathematics, architecture, and city-building.
3)Writing and governance (laws).
This imparted wisdom allowed civilization to flourish.
Enlil was a supreme Sumerian god of wind, air, storms, and earth, a powerful creator and enforcer of divine will, ruling from his temple in Nippur as chief of the pantheon alongside Anu (sky) and Ea (freshwater). He separated heaven and earth, granted kingship, controlled weather, and famously sent a great flood to destroy humanity before later relenting, showing his dual role as creator and destroyer.
