My friends did this for me. They bought me everything they thought I would need for living alone and wrapped it in a giant box shaped as a house. Sweetest thing anyone ever did for me. I still use everything they bought me for my house.

I did this when I was 19 and moved out of my parents when I was 22. Had literally everything I needed and saved sooo much by slowly buying/asking for holidays and birthdays. I’d wait to buy bigger appliances though til closer because of warranties etc.

tip for anyone wanting to prep like this: always look in clearance first!! yea some are damaged but most of them are put on sale bc they’ve been in the store longer! also make a list so you don’t end up buying too many doubles

Did this from 15-19, then we bought our house at 19 and 21. Best thing I ever did, so much less stressful than buying like $3k worth of stuff when your also trying to pay rent/mortgage

This is the smartest thing you can do truly as a young adult planning to move out. Would also reccomend with gender neutral baby things if you plan on that one day and if not the stuff you can’t use makes great gifts for others!
