Yes! I’ve been thinking about how due to private equity people are getting pushed out of their neighborhoods or can’t afford basic needs. Or governments choosing to prioritize ‘tourists’ or ‘tech visas’ over their own people. It’s capitalism and I worry we are blaming each other instead of strategizing together! Capitalism devours culture and local businesses

we do lose our culture but not because of immigration but because of convenience. I remember how lively Easter was as a child. we just don't put effort into our culture anymore. that's it.

thats why im so aganist American foreigners moving into places and not getting to know the culture and environment of where they move to. theyre doing it to places in Mexico and Puerto Rico.

One example I can think of immediately are Gender reveal Parties and Baby Showers. It wasn't a thing 15 years ago in Europe when I had kids. But the next generation of parents are now doing all the things they have seen on social media in the United States and shops are set up with the decorations.

Europeans have been killing themselves and going to war for centuries due to dominance. This idea of accepting every European culture is not true. Slavs, Germanic, Celtics, Romans, and Greeks had beef with each other and yet its a kumbaya moment because of NATO/EU to be castrated and obsessed with economic and political pacts.

Seeing the right wing in Europe scream about Christian whíte values is so interesting when I remember many Europeans have only recently joined the ranks of good whítes but also that many Europeans have religious practices and traditions that aren’t Christian. Like they actively want it to be a homogeneous blob

To be fair gender reveals weren’t a thing in the US fifteen years ago either it moved rly quickly across the US I think bc it props up patriarchy. It’s a fad I wish would just fizzle out already I think it’s weird!

yeah, "white culture" is not a thing. Whiteness really means blankness and emptiness in the context of culture. Get people to identify as white, and you've got the perfect blank slate for capitalist capture of identity. When you don't have a culture, you express yourself through your work and how you spend your money.
