The minute I forced a mental shift, I instantly felt the weight off my shoulders. “Thank God he woke up.” “What a privilege to be EVERYTHING to him.” “If I’m lucky, I MAY get to do this all over one or two more times.” “These sweet small snuggles won’t last forever” Also silly, but romanticizing the moment with some sweet somber music, game changer for me. Nap when you can mama, the sun will shine in your world again very soon I promise.

I know it sounds silly but pray. God wants to hear from us in our time of need.

This was the hardest sleep regression for us and why does it have to coincide with return to work? Do they not know we are running on fumes?

My 4 month old would get up 4-7 times a night. At 5.5 months I ended up doing sleep training because I could barely function and I work full time. I did a modified Ferber (only ever did 5-10-15). And she slept through the night in 3 days. Saved my life

Tbh. Nothing but time. I looked and felt horrible during the four month regression. Then he just went back to sleeping well again

Romanticize your morning coffee, get a fancy mug, a special creamer or syrup, etc. I am 100% running off coffee, so it might as well be something I wake up excited for

try to give them more day feeds, the "regression" is usually because they're catching up on feeds overnight because they prefer to be active and looking around during the day (at least that was my experience with 2 babies)

I am on day 4 of sleep training and it has changed my life. After night 1 I haven’t had to to any check ins because he has calmed himself. We tried co-sleeping and he slept worse. Massive advocate for sleep training- moms and babies need to sleep. To be a good mom you need to be rested. For baby to develop, they need to sleep. 🫶🏼

The only thing that helped me was a change in mindset. I go to bed knowing I’ll be up 100 times 🥲Reminding myself that it’s not my time to be well rested right now. Sleep will come again eventually. Accept help where and when you can and try not to wish the hard days away too much 🤍

Full survival mode is sooo real at 4 months 😅 I remember counting the hours, barely sleeping, living on snacks and still feeling bloated and heavy all the time. I kept asking when it gets better because nothing I tried changed how drained I felt. In a postpartum support chat someone mentioned Eat Like a Woman Protocol by Loren Green. I followed it slowly and ended up 28 lbs down, digestion calm, energy steady again. Feels like nobody tells new moms this part.

Honestly my favorite thing lately is bringing her in bed in the morning when dad goes to work and we sleep in and start our day later (830) then play on her mat together while I eat breakfast. Just slow down, if you can, and take it easy on yourself. Contact nap so you can rest too and lots of extra yummy coffees! This too will end 🥰

I truly had to start telling myself the corny “this too shall pass”. I had to remind myself one day they won’t be in this dire need of me. One day they won’t want to constantly be in my arms. And all of a sudden, one day comes so soon and they went from 4 months to 4 years. One day I’ll miss this exact moment im awake crying with my baby because we’re both exhausted. Until then, I take it one day at a time bc that’s truly all we can do to survive this hell on earth they call the 4 month sleep regression 😭

4 months was by far the hardest stage with both of my babies and my only advice is that this phase (which is all it is!) ENDS ❤️have never felt worse than this period with both babies but both times I have come out the other side myself again. One foot in front of the other and know it’s not forever xx

This is what made me bed share yes I’m aware it’s unsafe don’t come at me. But my daughter would be up every 5 minutes. I was seeing things at one point and I was like nope and she slept through ever since. She has her own bassinet on my bed
