hairspray your hat a little, curl your hair (heat) , the hairspray again, then put in heatless curls (socks are quite good), take them out and hairspray, by now your hair will be crispy af so use some hair oil at the end xx

honestly the best time I get my curls to hold is on day 3 hair bc fresh hair genuinely doesn’t hold curls so u kinda want it to have it a little greasy sounds grim but that’s how mine holds
