I don't understand the concept of Bible study and reading it over and over again. I mean... the book ain't THAT big. 🤔 And it's been translated into 3rd grade level English at this point.

former Bible highlighter here - I have/had no idea what I was doing but the other girlies were highlighting and drawing flowers/rewriting verses in their Bibles and posting on IG so I had to do it too.

I went to Catholic school for 10 years and I remember specifically being told to never damage the bible. The nuns were REAL strict about that 😂 I was terrified to do anything but hold it

I'm not rlly religious anymore, but I am still philosophical. I think a lot of them are probably highlighting the parts where it tells you how to act and how to be a good person, but the problem is… They think they live that way, but they really don't.

My parents made me go to Bible camp and I felt like I should have things highlighted like others so I flipped every few pages and just highlighted my heart out. Made ZERO sense

my grandparents went to a very small, shockingly progressive, southern Baptist Church with a congregation mainly 55+ in the 90s-early2000s. When I'd visit I'd see lots of the elderly ladies scribbling notes on sermons & bible passages, my grandma was their Sunday class leader and told me they discussed those points the next week. But when I looked over at my grandpa doing it during a sermon he was writing little jokes in his! The word "accord" kept being said so he wrote "Honda dealer" at the top of the page
