Why a Business That Ignores Yandex Maps Is Digging Its Own Grave Why are Yandex Maps and map-based advertising so critically important for businesses and marketers today? 📍 Because, quite simply, it’s one of the few tools that continues to work even when everything else fails. In early November, I was on a business trip to Tula. A beautiful city — but mobile internet there lives its own life… or more accurately, often doesn’t work at all. Strategic facilities, restricted zones, unstable coverage. And there are many cities like this. Even near critical infrastructure, connectivity can disappear unexpectedly. But here’s the interesting (and impressive) part: Yandex Maps still work. Yandex Go works too. You can call a taxi, load locations on the map, and even submit reviews — which get moderated the next day. It makes you wonder how this is possible: the internet is barely functioning, yet Yandex services remain fully operational. I’m walking through Tula with no mobile internet — and still easily find a restaurant. Navigation may glitch occasionally, but well-optimized listings stand out clearly, like beacons. That’s not magic — that’s infrastructure. So yes, Yandex belongs to a group of services that are largely unaffected by internet disruptions. And businesses need to be present where visibility and customers exist. That’s simple logic. Business owners understand this — otherwise, they wouldn’t be business owners.
