if i ever see a mandatory tip on a meal under 100 dollars i will demand it be removed if they refuse i will walk out without paying tips are earned not demanded better yet tips should be abolished all together and employers should be made to pay their employees a proper wage

mandatory tipping should be illegal its stealing, if your food and service was good I'll tip you. tipping culture in America has gotten ridiculous in other countries its not required or considered rude.

if they didnt post or say theres a mandatory tip, then its illegal because if you didnt notify the consumer about a mandatory cost, especially a cost considered optional, then it can't be enforced. check your local laws but a vast majority holds the establishment responsible to notify the consumer about any costs upfront.

when my favorite buffet started adding mandatory 11% gratuity they also told people to not tip anymore its already on the bill and I am very happy with that I would have given a tip anyways so it just saves me time

This is why i want to cancel tipping culture its so enforced and doesn’t necessarily mean good service tips should be a bonus if you had a really good service and meal and you want to leave a little thank you not a mandatory thing cause now most places dont give good service anymore and we still tip training bad behavior its not the customers job to pay cause the job wont pay their staff wish it would stop but corporations are greedy
