On the Klook app you can also buy Shinkansen tickets and I found it to be the easiest. You need to book ahead of time if you want to take oversized luggage on the train. If you are leaving from Tokyo station, you need to be on the YAESU side of the station to board any Shinkansen. Shinagawa station may be easier then trying to get on at Tokyo station.
