I work in sports television. Sports and tv both fields that are majority men. I have two sports Emmys. The amount of things you’ve mentioned I’ve had to deal with is insane. After my second win someone asked me if this is why I didn’t have children because I cared too much about my career. Not a single man I have worked with has ever been asked why they do or do not have children.

My brother got his black belt at 19, I got mine at 17. We’ve had this conversation. I can’t tell you how much it means to know there are more men than just my brother who are willing to actually acknowledge what it means to be a woman in martial arts/ sports. It makes me hopeful for my three daughters in this world. 🖤
