@dr.farajhasan: History was made in the heart of Times Square. We sat on the floor in halaqa style, gathered in a circle like people sitting around a campfire, except the light wasn’t fire. The light was the Qur’an. Surrounded by flashing billboards and city noise, we recited Surah Al-Fatiha together, Muslims from different backgrounds, cultures, and languages, united by one Book. In the middle of one of the busiest places in the world, there was stillness. Credit to @wayoflifesq for organizing his 5th Annual Taraweeh in Times Square and creating the space for moments like this.
