“There’s is no such thing as Black American culture without African and Caribbean people”. First, why is she saying Africa and Caribbean as if black peoples are indigenous to the Caribbean🤦🏾‍♀️?! Secondly, enslaved Africans didn’t only come through the Caribbean! Many enslaved Africans were brought directly from Africa to US ports. I feel when some people say this it’s almost like saying Black Americans don’t have the ability to be creative or come up with ideas/new culture on their own, only Africans and Caribbean people do, which is nuts! This boils down to she basically not seeing Black/African Americans as its own separate and unique ethnicity, just diluted Caribbean people😒.
