@beforeyoubook: We stayed at Ryokan Biyunoyado in Japan, located in Yudanaka Onsen near Nagano. Staying in a traditional ryokan is highly recommended…at least for 1 night. Expect tatami mat floors, sliding shoji doors, and a futon laid out each night while you’re at dinner. You’ll change into a yukata, take your shoes off at the door, and prepare to slow down. Travel tip: If you are going to Japan and staying in smaller villages, it’s a good idea to check if your hotel provides free transfers from the train station (so that you can time your arrival properly - they are usually at certain times). This hotel also gave us free transfers to the Monkey Park. (There will be a post on that very soon!) #biyunoyado #ryokan #japantravel #onsenlife #ryokanbiyunoyado
