Tell him you want to talk with him. Sit him down, let him know that you have friends that are going through a divorce and you’re thinking you might like to try it, ask if he would be open to trying divorce too, ask him to think about it, or perhaps read about it. And let him know you are speaking with a lawyer but he’s not allowed to read your messages.

I'm polyamorous and her reaction is very fair, and I believe her that it wasn't the polyamory suggestion but that he pushed. There are so many people that are pressured into this life, and I'm proud of her for standing her ground. If his friends were responsible polyamorists at all, they would have tried to talk him out of suggesting it. There are very few instances where changing a monogamous relationship poly works.

I wonder if he’d be so keen on the idea if the 3rd person was a man. I get the feeling he’s interested in a woman. You don’t have one person introduce a 3rd person to poly. Both parties have to love the 3rd for it to work.

Okay so just so EVERYONE knows, you can LEAVE/DIVORCE your partner/spouse for any reason you choose. No one OWNS anyone and people are free to change their minds whenever for whatever reason. Yep it causes problems and issues and hurt feelings but NEVER let that stop you from doing what is best for you.
