I had a manager that was a micro manager and picked holes in everything I did. Then decided to shake up the department and I was given a three month redundancy notice. Three months for someone my grade is unheard off, usually a month. I went full on into my network and reached out to everyone. I had introductions to so many people and really positive responses / feedback/ suggestions etc. it was quite overwhelming and lovely. Now I’ve never actually been happier, rewarded and respected. It’s always in the back of my mind that nothing is guaranteed but damn, I’m happy.

So... I had oodles if hard evidence that I was unfairly dismissed as well as adverse action, failures in duty of care, years of proof of excellent KPIs etc. The business treated all of this as "nah, it all doesn't count", the union wouldn't help, solicitors wouldn't touch it. I'm still looking for a job months later and suffering PTSD from the experience. I look back on the situation and often think, darn, I should have really destroyed some careers on the way out, just as they did mine, rather than waste my time and energy believing in justice and fairness.
