I am in my mid 50s, so why does my doctor tell me I can skip a year for my Pap smear? She’s telling me I can have my Pap smear every other year. That doesn’t sound right

I just received a call from obgyn to redo the pap inciting that there were not enough cells to give a full result but the hpv was negative. Insurance is not going to cover another one so I’d have to pay. How can there not be enough cells? I told her I’d wait to re do the test. I haven’t had an abnormal pap since 2013ish. The others have all been normal.. I’m a bit frustrated..

Here in British Columbia we do it ourselves at home now. The kit is mailed to us, we use it and mail it to the lab.

I had a super cervical hysterectomy 16 years ago. I still get my paps because I still have my uterus but at almost 64 how to yall check the ovaries?

I don’t mind the Pap smear but I hate the mammogram so much it’s so painful to me and I always get called for a repeat that’s nothing

I just had mine yesterday, it wasnt bad at all the doc used a small speculum and lots of lube and he was very gentle, Im 63 and hate them too, he said after 65 you can stop, what ate your thoughts???

I'm too terrified to go in for the Colposcopy. I struggle with Vaginismus, there's no way I could tolerate a Colposcopy.
