My three young adult kids have paired off with lovely people who feel accepted in my house and it’s loud and crowded and messy and everyone is trying hard to give each other space and one of them told me he told his gf early, “in my family, you can be who you are” and Christ on a stale cracker am I grateful for your content and all the authors and creators who helped me set down Dobson parenting.

Our DIL is controlling and manipulative. When our side of the family refused to become evangelicals and change our political views, she and our son started to get verbally abusive towards us. We went no contact bc we deserve peace. They will claim that we didn’t like that they were “standing up for themselves/their beliefs” and that we are evil demons who kept our son from being his true self and allowed our other child to be homosexual. Seeing people place 100% of the blame on parents does hurt families like mine. It also reinforces behavior from adult children like mine. I do like most of your content, but I think this way of thinking is damaging.
