Acting fast matters because once you accept a new flight or credit, you generally lose the right to the automatic refund. Quick script you can use at the gate or on the phone “Hi, my flight [number] is now delayed by [X] hours, which under DOT rules is a significant change. I do not accept rebooking or travel credits.
