@angusthenontechnical: Learned this the hard way lol… I luckily did get the system working well eventually. In that time I realized there is a ton you should NOT automate with AI. In fact a lot of the things I was looking to automate I could just do with a series of algorithms. The more you know! #ai #aiagents #aiautomation #techtok #startuplife

Had an AI startup approach my company.. the “ceo” was a fresh college grad with a degree in a totally unrelated field and only one person on their staff had actually worked in my industry (20 years ago).. they were very excited about their AI automation of standard reports in my industry. They were stunned when I asked to if their AI could gather/collect and analyze the required data(the actual labor intensive/time consuming aspect of said reports) .. it couldn’t do that, it could only write the report after being spoon fed all the applicable data.. our reports are already highly optimized and damn near automated with just a handful of variable inputs. They legitimately couldn’t not understand why I wouldn’t want to pay them 90% of my profit margin to do literally the easiest part of the entire reporting process lol

We got to keep talking about this. The media and all of the glazers are getting the airtime to project this utopian AI that is coming. But, actual solutions providers that build this stuff know where are the limits, and when to use or not.

The one thing I have learned in my many years of working as a person that just fixes stuff and maintains people's homes is that you watch them use the product as you build it. each iteration builds it better. you're not going to replace them. you want them to be 400X of what they are. you're just making cyborgs next time. think of it as like that. that's how I built my systems. that's how they're being used by the people that I've built them for. it's like an extension of their mind. a second brain if you will able to be a co-processor
