I think because she had size 16s in her wardrobe people confuse that for a modern 16. For perspective Audrey wore a 12 and Grace wore a 14. Marilyn weight and size varied, I think she was great inspo for people with a similar shape regardless of size.

Marilyn fluctuated in between sizes and when she was bigger she was pregnant . But she was NEVER plus size and never a size 16 in today’s terms. Sizing was done differently back then and in today’s sizing she was more of a size 4-6 👌

I think I saw a video a few years ago where someone said that based on her measurements, she would have been about a size 6 today. She also looks pretty slim in all the videos/films too

Vintage sizing is different. A 16 would be a uk size 12 in modern sizes. She actually had a 24" waist which is around a size 6 uk. It annoys me when I see people spreading misinformation!
