@drtanyaaltmann: The two biggest viruses we’re seeing right now: seasonal coronavirus (NOT COVID) and Influenza B. Seasonal coronavirus is a common cold virus we haven’t seen much of the past few years but is now hitting kids and adults hard, with a bad cough that can last a week or longer. Make sure to drink plenty of fluids and rest and your doctor if fever lasts more than 3–4 days or cough lingers beyond 1–2 weeks. Influenza A is declining, but Flu B is rising…and it’s tricky. Symptoms may start mild and early tests can be negative, then worsen around day 3–4 when tests turn positive. If you suspect flu, consider testing daily so you can start antivirals early. Flu B wrecked us this last week, first 3 days were very mild for me, day 4-6 literally felt like I was on my deathbed. Day 7 doing better but holy moly it was brutal. My daughter really took about 9-10 days before starting turn a corner.

I got it on Sunday, thought it was a sinus infection and treated it as such. Saw a teledoc Monday who prescribed me cough pearls and mucinex. Tues and Wednesday I thought I was dying. Went to Urgent Care today, Flu B. Fml 🤦‍♀️

I have influenza a right now, but it hasn’t been too bad. I’m on day six. I think because I was vaccinated. I’m having a super mild case. Mostly just a sore throat and congestion. No fever and my energy has been high.
