@rachelcruze: If you’re not old enough to rent a car without extra fees, why are you old enough to borrow six figures? 😅 #studentloans #college

Federal loans of $100,000 aren’t for 18 year olds, those are parent plus loans

But, most 18 year olds have parents signed onto their loans. Like my daughter will have to take out a loan, to go to college…. Am I preaching to her why we shouldn’t go out of state & showing her the difference in the loan payments, of course. But her degree will pay for those loans.

Yes but let’s talk about how much pressure high schools put on kids to pick a career pathway and kids have this idea that they can’t change their mind already in high school.

If you want to go to college stay in the state/city. Go to a community college then go to the university and stay at home until you’re done with college. Then after you can live anywhere you want because you won’t have this big loan. That’s the best advice for college kids

That's right. Don't do that. You do not want to become Doctor or lawyer.

after year one of my son going away- I have finally convinced him to come home and not spend that money. Community college now - we’ll help him pay he’ll live here and his main goal now is to work while going and pay off those loans. I told him he will thank me 5-10 years from now that he doesn’t have the loans I did

For the majority of career paths you'll pursue, it's entirely possible to obtain your degree at your local community college. This approach offers a significant cost advantage, allowing you to remain at home and avoid incurring unnecessary expenses. Furthermore, the flexibility to work while attending school enables you to manage your finances effectively, paying off your student loans as you go and ultimately avoiding being overwhelmed by debt.

Several universities feature luxurious, resort-style lazy rivers as part of their student recreation centers, often aimed at improving student life and wellness. Top examples include Louisiana State University (LSU), the University of Missouri, Texas Tech University, and Arizona State

Number one college doesn’t need to be as expensive as it is. I’m not talking about making your kids go the community college route first or whatever that doesn’t help that much. School should not be 40,000 ever. Secondly make the interest on those loans extremely low. They’re really high. I took out no loans and worked in college and was able to come out debt-free thankfully. I worked my butt off. I think people should be held accountable for their loans, but I do agree multiple things need to be fixed.
