@toniospeakss: Black Men Were Disrespected On Live TV At the 2026 BAFTA Film Awards, an audience member — identified as Tourette syndrome campaigner John Davidson — was heard shouting an extremely offensive racial slur (the N-word) during the ceremony while actors Michael B. Jordan and Delroy Lindo were presenting an award. The incident occurred in the auditorium and was inadvertently included in the BBC’s broadcast of the event. This was extremely disrespectful & disability or not, an apology is needed to be given. Many black people have been voicing there opinion & are not taking these trash excuses.

It’s funny how people are demanding 'grace' for a medical condition now, but the world didn't have that same energy for Jordan Neely. He had schizophrenia and was choked to death for being a 'disruption,' and NY Governor Hochul’s response was literally 'actions have consequences.' Or look at Brendan Depa, an autistic teenager who was sentenced to five years in prison for assaulting his teacher. You don't get to pick and choose when a disability is an uncontrollable excuse and when it's a reason for state violence or prison. If those two were held to a standard that cost one his life and the other his freedom, then a man getting removed from a fancy awards show for shouting racial slurs at Black presenters like Michael B. Jordan and Delroy Lindo is the bare minimum of accountability. The disparity in who you think deserves 'grace' is what's actually backwards here.

I think he should still apologize because at the end of the day he still said a racial harmful slur to two black men, but we should mostly be blaming bafta because John Davidson communicated to them that he nervous about that night and that he might have some out burst, then they proceeded to tell him they would cut out all of the words and they did cut out most of them but they didn’t cut out the N word, I feel as if they were looking to embarrass him and bring attraction to the bafta.

I agree some of what unsaid. Yes black ppl are typcially expected to be the bigger person and just deal with antiblackness and the harm that comes with it. And to an extent that has shown with how some folks have chosen to minimize the impacts of Black ppl and be racist. At the same time, Coprolalia is a well documented medical condition. There r Black ppl on this app with Coprolalia who have spoken about how they tick slurs too and they dont mean any negative intent when they tick slurs. The BBC & BAFTA are the actual culprit because John went to them concerned about him ticking offensive words and they assured him they would edit it out. Mind u they put a microphone close to him. They also choose to cut out many of his other offensive ticks while keeping the N word. We shouldn't tolerate any disrespect from BBC and BAFTA. At the same time, us listening to black folks with Coprolalia and choosing to educate ourselves on it so we dont shield our abelism in pro blackness is so not disrespect and is crucial.

i feel like a lot of people don't understand how tourettes work when they talk about this, it doesn't have to be on your mind or vocabulary, mine literally come from things that i hear and my mind relates those things with people who are associated with said things.
