After being a patient I've realised that when inserting a cannula this way is so painful. once you get drawback, advance the cannula while withdrawing the needle simultaneously. I don't know if that explains it well but it makes a very big difference in pain reduction for the patient

I remember when one IT nurse abi lab assistant nearly sent my son to his early grave because of this…no cocomelon episode we no play that day, my son didn’t stop crying….for every piercing, no blood Dey come out…until she called the real person on that position… God!!!!!! Abi na my own experience for one hospital for PortHarcourt? That hospital dey Okuru/abuloma side!!!! Jesus!!!! Upon say na certified doctor fix that line, it must tissue in less than an hour. To the extent one nurse even grumbled about it when it was just me and her tbere…she said and I quote “why do they always have issues with their lines in this hospital” 😂😂😂 that was where I knew it was over for me 😂😂
