Don’t even buy, use old laptops. I had 3 old laptops that I realized can be used to run a cluster with shared hardware.

So if I use an old laptop I don’t need a vm right? Or do I use a vm to hold media by assigning it a big chunk of memory on the old laptop?

m@rcus :

Can I create a virtual home lab, like in docker before fully committing to buying hardware?

I want to learn first, so I got a used HP EliteDesk 800 G3 TWR. i5-7500 3.4GHz 60gb RAM and a 500gb hard drive. What VM guide should I start with? Any recommendations? I eventually want to expand and host/secure my own services. Thanks in advance.
