What happened was correct and it was all on the suspect. I don’t care what you say, walking towards a cop purposefully with a brandished knife after being told to put it down requires escalation. Looks like a good cop traumatized after being forced to protect himself.

a gun at a certain distance is effective but a knife is EXTREMELY effective close contact. if the office let the suspect get within a certain distance with the knife he could've been seriously hurt or killed. he had every right to defend himself i just with both officers pulled tazers instead

In a lot of jurisdictions if a suspect’s weapon is identified and they then flee, the officer can neutralize the potential threat to public safety. Especially is a residential zone. Yes, this means discharging in the back.
