there is a small dog that shows up at my back door a few times a week pawing for my dog to come out and play. he can fit through the wholes in it cause he's small. my dog can't. I have no idea where this dog comes from or who's it is. he just comes by....

That's completely normal. A former neighbor had a cat, Henry, would come visit one of my cats. When my brother's family was living with me for a time, my eldest niece (4 at the time) let Henry inside. Henry climbed into her baby brother's crib and went to sleep with my nephew. It almost gave my sister-in-law a heart attack when she went to pick up my nephew. 😂
