NYS you have to get a burning permit it’s free and also call dispatch and let them know the day you burn so any calls for a fire at your address they already know not to page the fire department out

We get a burn permit every winter and anything over 30X30 needs to let dispatcher know. Anything under in the winter is fine.

It all depends on what county you live in. In Franklin County and where I live, Washington County you don’t call. In JeffCo every fire department in the surrounding counties show up 🤣
