@jayprehistoricpets: Coconut is on the move today😳🐊 First it’s feeding time and you can see those instincts kick in immediately🙌 Even though she’s an albino American alligator, those predator behaviors are still the same, quick reaction, powerful jaws, and that explosive burst driven by her massive tail🤯 Albino gators lack melanin which gives her that bright white and pink coloration, but it also means she’s more sensitive to sunlight and needs a little extra care👀 After she eats it’s scrub time to help keep her skin clean, especially since gators spend so much time in the water😅 Their bodies are covered in tough armored scutes called osteoderms which act like built in armor plates, and they also have a third eyelid that works like goggles to protect their eyes underwater🔥 Alligators continue growing throughout their lives, with females staying smaller than males but still reaching impressive sizes as they age🙌 In the wild they’re patient ambush predators, lying still for long periods before striking at fish, birds, or mammals that get too close😳 Taking care of Coconut means understanding both her power and her biology, because even a clean and well fed gator is still a perfectly designed apex predator🐊🔥
