@mosaick9training: First leash step: awareness Ollie and I did long line work at the park during the after-school rush. No talking. No luring. No interaction. I just walk a simple triangle pattern and let the line do the teaching. If he isn’t paying attention to where I am, he hits the end and gets a natural correction. After about five minutes, he really started to figure it out. By the end, he’s still free to be a dog — but he’s not hitting the end of the line anymore. This isn’t heel work. It’s the foundation: spatial awareness + responsibility on the leash so we can build real-life loose leash walking next.
