You'll only tear your biceps if you use the wrong technique. These famous videos happen because the guys do a shorter range of motion than they should, and with a tiny mistake, they lower themselves a little more than normal and that's when they tear. This happens because their tendon got used to that range of motion as the limit. If you always do the full range of motion, there won't be any problem. Keep it up.
