@sacramentourbanmedia916: California woman convicted in the deaths of her three young daughters could soon be released after a state parole board again ruled she is suitable for parole. Megan Hogg, 53, is currently incarcerated at the Central California Women's Facility. She was sentenced in 1999 to 25 years to life after pleading no contest to three counts of first-degree murder in connection with the 1998 deaths of her children. According to court records previously reported by SFGATE, Hogg had a documented history of depression following a head injury. Prosecutors at the time argued the crimes were driven by family conflict, while court filings also referenced her struggles with mental health. In 2018, a parole board found Hogg suitable for release, but then-Gov. Jerry Brown reversed that decision. The San Mateo County District Attorney's Office opposed her release again this year, citing public safety concerns. During the most recent hearing, some family members expressed support for Hogg’s release, while others urged officials to keep her incarcerated. The final decision now rests with California Gov. Gavin Newsom, who has the authority to approve or deny the parole board’s recommendation.#fyp #viral
