Back in 2023 I was in the worst mental state I had ever been in I had just lost my grandma and was struggling mentally it only got worse to where I felt like taking my life I found red dead 2 by scrolling on YouTube and saw someone streaming it later the following week I had my mom buy it for me because I wanted to try it out and it was on a deal I played through the entire game and after I finished it I started sobbing uncontrollably not because I didn't like it or because something else but because this video game isn't just simply a video game this game made me realize no matter how bad you think things are or how bad things seem you can always have time to turn it around no matter the loss no matter the struggles you can keep going and keep pushing this game made me find a peace inside myself no other video game has ever before I felt reborn Arthur's path and his story isn't just about a cowboy it's about a man who has killed and has made mistakes and when his TB hits he realizes he is going to die and that death is inevitable and in last moments he doesn't kill more or just wait for it to happen he does everything in his power to save his friend and keep pushing Arthur showed me that no matter what it is possible to be a good person and be a good man I had a father but he wasn't absent most of my life so Arthur felt like my father figure he didn't just show me that I could be a better person he showed me that you can change you can overcome everything through your perseverance I did a high honor play through as my first play through and in Arthur's last moments when he is breathing heavily and sunrise takes him I just felt so much acceptance in my life it was basically telling me that he did it. He did enough even though he didn't live in the end Arthur got what he wanted after I played this game I couldn't stop thinking about it it truly changed my life for the better and I'm proud to say that red dead redemption is single handedly the best video game in the world imo ofc but I truly think that red dead 2 is a once in a lifetime game and Roger Clarks performance as Arthur Moragan isn't just good it's inhuman thank you Arthur for everything so long cowboy
